What

SiteView is an RMIT research project in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management with funding from VBA (Victorian Building Authority), aimed at creating an immersive tool for construction workers to understand and visualize the rules and regulations they need to follow.

SiteView is a web app that can be used on various devices like smartphones, tablets, computers, and VR headsets. This means that users can access the information easily, no matter what device they have or where they are.

How

The app takes users on a tour of interactive 360° images of real construction sites. Users can click on different areas of the images to learn more about the processes and guidelines they need to follow to meet government requirements. There are different ways to interact with the 360° images, including using a mouse, touchscreen, or VR headsets.

Why

By offering a simple and engaging app, users will gain a better understanding of best practices in construction. This will help workers on-site to reliably follow the necessary rules and regulations.

SiteView was showcased at the 2024 VBA Industry Conference held in Marvel Stadium's Victory room to very positive responses. I'm looking forward to continuing development on immersive educational experiences to share new ways to teach and learn.
